FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

EVANSVILLE, INDIANA – September 12, 2018 – EXTEND GROUP has partnered with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office, Evansville Police Department, and Vanderburgh County Prosecutor to create an online resource for crime victims. The Vanderburgh County Crime Victim Resources (VCCVR) website provides assistance for victims who are navigating through the criminal justice system and for those who need support or emergency assistance.

“The website is a central hub of information and services that victims can access at any time. It’s designed to guide a victim to the resources they need, and it allows local support groups to connect with those that need the services they offer,” said Sheriff Dave Wedding.

The VCCVR website is a collective source of agencies and organizations within and around Vanderburgh County, IN, that are willing to participate in assisting crime victims personally and within the criminal justice system. The initiative was launched at a community Press Conference on September 12th at the Civic Center in Downtown Evansville.

“Technology connects people to information,” said CEO of EXTEND GROUP, Shawn Collins. “EXTEND GROUP is happy to be a part of this community collaboration which connects victims in need to the resources they need now.”

View the online resource by visiting VCCVR.org. Organizations can add their services to the website by clicking this link. Learn more about the initiative and how to get involved by emailing [email protected] or contacting EXTEND GROUP.
