“Shawn Collins demonstrates his abilities to improve the community by utilizing his knowledge of technology,” said Shelia Naab, vice president of the Leadership Evansville Board of Directors. “He is always looking for new ways to continue and grow his business, the EXTEND GROUP, as well as finding ways to grow our community. He uses his strengths in technology to improve the technology platform for projects and organizations in our community. “
Leadership Evansville was founded in 1976 to develop effective leaders committed to using diversity and creativity for the betterment of the community. Through its staff and volunteers, LE teaches people to make a commitment to create a better community and take responsibility for making sustainable changes. They further teach these skills and processes to organizations, not-for-profits, businesses, churches and other leadership programs.
“I’m so honored to receive an award that’s based on my dedication to the betterment of my community,” said Collins. “Together, I hope we can embrace the concept of community and make Evansville an even better place to live.”
Collins is the Founder and CEO of the EXTEND GROUP, a marketing consulting firm based in Evansville, IN, and an active volunteer in the Evansville Vanderburgh community. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Graphic Design from the University of Southern Indiana. He serves as an Executive Board Member of Leadership Evansville, as well as being the chair of its Communications and Technology committee. He is also the Technology Committee Chair for Evansville’s VOICE project.
Collins is married to Jasper, Ind., native, Melissa, and together they have two children, Bailey, 7, and McKenna, 2. Collins and his family are members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in downtown Evansville.
