Strong, 24/7 Connection to Sheriff’s Office Via Mobile Apps

With the recent launch of two mobile apps, EXTEND COMMUNITY is reinforcing the bonds of communication the company’s earlier efforts helped build between the Porter County Sheriff’s Office and the community the law enforcement agency serves and protects. Whether the mobile device they carry is Android or iOS, residents now have full access to the content of the Porter County Sheriff’s Community Manager website, via phone. The apps put everything at the users’ fingertips: Emergency alerts, news, booking records, tip reporting, and more. The mobile apps, as well as the web-based Sheriff’s Community Manager platform (www.portercountysheriff.com), were all created by EXTEND COMMUNITY. Sheriffs in several other Indiana Counties are also using EXTEND COMMUNITY websites and mobile apps to connect with residents.

The tremendous growth of mobile phone usage has accelerated demand for apps, reports EXTEND COMMUNITY, the Community Manager branch of the Evansville, Indiana-based EXTEND GROUP. According to EXTEND GROUP Founder and CEO, Shawn Collins, “In 2015, over 100 billion apps were downloaded from Apple’s App Store.” What’s more, “With mobile use surpassing desktop, it’s imperative that we create a strong mobile presence for our community sheriffs,” adds Collins.

EXTEND COMMUNITY is an Indiana Sheriffs’ Association Gold Star Member and Preferred Vendor. Notes Shawn Collins, “We’re honored to be part of the positive process that builds a bridge of communication between those who protect their community and those who are the community.”

The Porter County Sheriff’s Office apps are available for immediate download. The Android app is accessible through Google Play, and the iOS, which is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch, can be downloaded at iTunes.
