At its March 2015 Winter Conference in Bloomington, Indiana, the Indiana Sheriffs’ Association (ISA) designated EXTEND COMMUNITY as the ISA Preferred Platform Vendor. EXTEND COMMUNITY is the community manager branch of the Evansville, Indiana-based EXTEND GROUP. The company’s innovations include EXTEND Community Manager, a website created for the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s office: vanderburghsheriff.org.
Among the community-building, time-saving benefits of the EXTEND Community Manager are postings of Safety and Crime Alerts, online filing of permits and reports, answers to frequently asked questions, plus Recent Bookings and Inmate Search capabilities. The Vanderburgh County site averages over 300,000 visitors per month and greatly reduces Q&A calls coming into the department. The site also serves as a training resource for the community, providing information on internet safety, identity theft, group education programs, and what to do in a traffic stop.
